Eivind Bergsmyr, Chair

Eivind Bergsmyr is Partner in Viking Venture since 2009, and holds board seats at several of Viking Venture’s portfolio companies. He is the current chairman of Xait AS, and former chairman of GasSecure AS (sold to Dräger in 2015). Eivind Bergsmyr previously served as CEO of Nacre AS, a Norwegian start-up, which was sold to Sperian Protection in 2007, and was recognised as the Nordic Venture Exit of the Year. Prior to this, Eivind Bergsmyr acquired extensive industrial experience at Siemens. He holds an MSc in Electronics Eengineering from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.


Ann-Tove Kongsnes, Deputy Chair

Ann-Tove Kongsnes is Investment Director of Investinor AS. She has 17 years' experience from active ownership in seed, early, and expansion stage investments, working mainly with high-tech companies. Before this, she worked 7 years in international marketing, serving as Director of Marketing and Operations. Ann-Tove Kongsnes has broad boardroom experience, and currently serves on the boards of Investinor’s portfolio companies Numascale, Spinchip Diagnostics, Vitux and Pharmalink. She holds an MSc in Economics and Business Administration from HIB, and has completed the Advanced Program in Corporate Finance at NHH Norwegian School of Economics.


Per Anell, Board member

Per Anell is Investment Manager Technology at Industrifonden. He has almost 20 years of professional experience from senior positions in several growth companies. Prior to joining Industrifonden, he worked as an investment manager at Innovationsbron, and later at Almi Invest, focusing mainly on seed investments in high-tech start-ups.


Arne Hans Tonning, Board member

Arne H. Tonning is Partner at Alliance Venture, and currently serves as Investor in Residence at Nordic Innovation House in Silicon Valley. Arne H. Tonning has served on poLight’s board since 2009. He has management consulting experience from CapGemini C4. Prior to this, he worked at the Norwegian Trade Council in London, and at SINTEF Telecom and Informatics, as a Research Scientist. He holds BSc and MSc degrees in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Tech, and an MBA from Edinburgh Business School, Heriot-Watt University.


Johan Paulsson, Board member, Independent

Johan Paulsson has served on poLight's board since 2010. He is Chief Technology Officer at Axis Communications. Prior to this, Johan Paulsson was COO and Head of R&D at Ericsson Mobile Platform. He holds an MSc in Electrical Engineering from Lund University.


Jan-Erik Hareid, Board observer

Jan-Erik Hareid is Managing Partner at Alliance Venture. He has 25 years of experience in management and international business development for high-tech startups and venture capital, including 5 years heading up Innovation Norway’s office in San Francisco, before founding Alliance Venture in 2001. He has previously led the global business development at two information technology companies, and also has work experience from a US oil company. Jan-Erik Hareid holds an MSc in Physics and Industrial Engineering from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, and an INSEAD IEP.


Erik Hagen, Board observer

Erik Hagen is Managing Partner of Viking Venture, which he founded in 2001. He holds an MSc in Computer Science from the Norwegian Institute of Technology (now the Norwegian University of Science and Technology), and an MBA from INSEAD, France. With a background from McKinsey & Company, Hagen has been VP Marketing (distribution) of NetCom GSM ASA, CEO of Schibsted Nett and Scandinavia Online, and a partner in Arthur Andersen. He has broad experience from ICT and oil and gas, with strong industrial, financial and political networks both in Norway and abroad.

Erik Hagen chairs the board of Nordic Venture Network, which represents the leading venture capital firms in the Nordic countries. He also served as vice-chairman of the board of the Norwegian Venture Capital Association over several years.

Otto Frøseth, Board observer

Otto Frøseth holds a BSc in Engineering, with additional education in Business Economics and ICT. Over more than 25 years, he has held international business executive positions, i.a. as CEO of Siemens AS and site manager at Siemens in Trondheim. Within the Siemens corporation Otto Frøseth also worked as division director at Siemens Building Technologies in the Nordic and Baltic regions, and led the development and implementation of the Siemens corporation’s Smart City projects. He also established Siemens’ global venture in city infrastructures. He currently serves on the board of Numascale AS, an Investinor portfolio company.
